Ravanbhata:
There is a permanent statue of Ravan on the ground of Ravanbhata, the oldest place for these festivities in Raipur. Every year, actors play the roles of Rama, Laxman, and Hanuman. There will also be no burning of the effigy. Ravan’s effigy stands at 70 feet tall, and Meghnad & Kumbhakaran’s are around 65 feet tall.
Samta Colony:
The effigies of Ravan have been burnt here for many years for the festival. Located in the city of happiness, this colony is surrounded by greenery. Fireworks and kite flying are the main attractions here. An effigy of Ravan measuring 70 feet will be burnt in this colony this year. Raipur Mayor Pramod Dubey will be this year’s chief guest.
Sapresala Maidan:
During the Ravan Dahan, the festivities take place right in the middle of Raipur city, making it an especially special event for people here. Every year, Dussehra festival is very crowded at this busiest place. A prominent kite-flying event takes place at Sapresala Maidan every year. For this festival, a 70-foot effigy of Ravan is constructed. There is a capacity of 40,000 people on the ground. For entertainment, every year there are grand fireworks displays.
